Evelisa Floral & Design during this time of COVID 19

Hello all,

It’s been a while since I blogged, posted or shared anything. As all of us have been experiencing so many emotions from this virus. Whether you have been affected by it personally, a family member or a friend it’s been difficult. I rarely share my personal life as my husband and myself have always been private especially in the social media world. But I would like to share with you what I’ve been going through during this uncertain time. Right before COVID 19 had arrived or rather spreading like wildfire we had just experienced a death in the family. We are a close net family so this deeply affected us but we cherished every moment we had and forever have her in our hearts. Then COVID 19 arrived in the tristate area; my husband who’s in the front lines saw the effects first hand and how serious the virus was and is. Right now we’re living in the new normal, continue to pray and be positive.

As he’s working hard in the front lines I’m taking the lead at home. I’ve experienced the symptoms and thank god I’m better. My priority is my family and my clients who are experiencing a difficult time as well. Planning a wedding can be difficult ; so imagine throwing a Pandemic in the mix. As I’ve seen others continue to post weddings and deliver flowers. It reminds me of the saying “Keep Calm & Carry On” but me personally I couldn’t. As I am not knocking them or saying it’s wrong but since I’ve been witnessing how terrible this virus is and how it affects the community who are in the front lines I’m a firm believer of #StayHome.

I still try to take a timeout from Homeschooling, Cleaning/disinfecting, Cooking (which I feel I’m doing all day) and communicating with my lovely clients to dedicate time to my craft and business. I recently listened to the Flower Podcast with Sinclaire & Moore in “Adapting through Adversity” with Steve Moore and I completely resonated with this specific episode. After listening I felt it was OK what I was feeling. I felt it was inappropriate to post beautiful weddings at this time and take a social media Sabbatical. I wanted to be present for my kids and not constantly look at my phone. I wanted them to feel safe and remember this time with their mom. Not just this scary time we had to stay home, everything was cancelled, we couldn’t see friends & family, their dad was working all the time and exhausted physically and mentally. The Pandemic has forced everyone to “Stop & Pause”. After a little over a month finding a new normal and starting to reflect of who I am and how I want Evelisa Floral & Design to be. I will start little by little to get back in the social media world. As I haven’t stopped communicating with my clients and to reassure them that we are here for them. Whether if they need to reschedule or altar the design.

I look forward to wedding season (whenever this virus dwindles down) and maybe new trends in the wedding world. I am open to change and what the future will have.

If you like to reach out to me we’re just an email away. Continue to stay safe and well.
