Wedding season is approaching fast and that comes with a lot of planning and decision making. Brides often struggle with what flowers they want, what color, what centerpieces and the list goes on and on. A popular question we often get at consultations and bridal shows is "What's is better? Real flowers or Fake flowers; Can you tell the difference?". No worries, we are here to save the day. You know what the say, not all floral designers wear capes. LOL
Fake or Real flowers, like most things in life, both have their pros and cons. Choosing to use fake flowers you are guaranteed that they will not wilt, brown or die the day before or the day of the event. You are able to keep the centerpiece or bouquet for as long as your heart desires. When using fake flowers they can be arranged and delivered in advanced. Also, the arrangements and bouquets do not need an oasis to hold water for flowers. By the way this is where most of the weight comes from. So fake flowers do result in lighter weight making it much easier to move from place to place. What is also great is that you don't have to worry about if the flower you want is in season or not. Artificial flowers are great when it comes to brides who are super allergic to real flowers. However, it really comes down to how much you are willing to dish out on these flowers. At the end of the day fake flowers are fake and if they are more on the cheap side, there's a great chance that it will indeed look artificial. Also it is rare to find a florist who will work with artificial flowers. This leads to hunting online to find more artificial flowers. Unfortunately most flower favorites aren't even made in silk or cost more then the real thing for example Hydrangeas, Peonies and Roses.
Luckily for you, we're willing to work with whatever you want, real or fake. To gain the natural and realistic beauty of a real flower, fake flowers usually cost the same if not, more than real flowers do. The more you pay the better quality and more realistic it will be. With real flowers if they are not in season the price will be higher than usual. Also with real flowers, preparing and delivering is done last minute. They'll wilt and die within time so everything has to be done as close as possible to the event. Real flowers have this fresh and natural beauty to them that is so hard to capture in an artificial flower. In photographs real flowers are captured better. They're always so beautiful and really make a statement.
